Note. The German scale is inverted — 0.7 is the highest grade and 5.0 is
failing. Use the swap control to convert either direction. Thesis and transferred
(TR) courses are excluded from the cumulative grade.
This converter works for both the German University in Cairo (GUC) and the German International University (GIU), which share the same grading scale. The official transcript key maps German course grades to letter grades and classifications. Because credit weighting for English & German language courses is halved, cumulative bands differ slightly from single-course grades.
